Why hire a personal trainer?
Personal trainers are hired for 3 different functions:

- Rather than put one more thing on an already full plate, you can let our trainer take care of your fitness program for you.
- We are your accountability partner and team, assigned and dedicated to work side-by-side with you -
who will push & guide you through every workout.

- Whether you have your 20th class reunion or are preparing for your 9th ironman triathlon,
you can use a trainer to make sure you are ready for the big day.
- A trainer can be hired to prepare & motivate you through the process of achieving your goals.
- “teach me”
- Just like having your learners permit
where you drive supervised before going it solo on the open road,
everyone could use some professional guidance before embarking on a fitness program.
- Hire us for one, two, or three sessions, take the information and run with it.
- For the self motivated type, all you need is to be pointed in the right direction.
How are results measured?
- We establish a baseline starting point by taking measurements, weight, body fat, and girth measurements
- You are also required to fill out a health history questionnaire
- Measuring success: these tangible results are the easy part
- Success is relative to each individual client
- It can be a reaching a target weight or finishing a marathon
- Everyone measures it differently but we have the tools and the knowledge to help you achieve
success no matter what your goal is

The three main components that make up the kinetic chain are:
- Skeletal system
- Muscular system
- Nervous system
It is considered normal for these three systems to work synergistically to achieve optimal pain free movement.
In reality, the synergy can be affected by muscular imbalance and faulty movement patterns brought about by:
- injury
- Poor posture
- Repetitive strain
- Inappropriate training technique

During the assessments which comprise basic human movements such as squatting, bending, twisting,
we will pinpoint any imbalances and work towards correcting these,
ultimately allowing you to work, exercise or enjoy your everyday activities more efficiently and hopefully pain free.

Functional Training Origins:
Functional Training has its orgins in rehabilitation, where physical therapists developed exercises that mimicked
what patients did at home or at work,
in order to return to their jobs after an injury or surgery.
Purpose & Benefits of Functional Training:
Excellence in Exercise incorporates functional training into our workouts based on what you tell us you do or would like to do.
For instance, if you told us you wanted to train to run a marathon we would work on leg strength doing exercises
with resistance that mimic a person’s running gait not max bench press.
This high level of customization is another example of the benefits of working with Excellence in Exercise.
